Java Moss is one of the most versatile and widely used aquarium mosses, valued for its fine, branching texture and exceptional adaptability. Its soft green growth adds a natural, aged look to aquascapes.
It can be attached to rocks, driftwood, mesh, or décor, or allowed to grow freely as a carpet or cushion. Java Moss is especially popular in shrimp tanks and breeding setups, providing excellent cover for fry.
Care and Growth:
Java Moss thrives in low to medium lighting and does not require CO₂ injection, making it ideal for low-tech aquariums. It tolerates a wide range of water conditions and temperatures.
Regular trimming helps maintain a tidy appearance and prevents debris from collecting within the moss. Trimmings can be easily reused to propagate new growth elsewhere in the aquarium.
