Overview:

Cryptocoryne × ‘Flamingo’ is a rare and highly sought-after Cryptocoryne hybrid, prized for its distinctive soft pink foliage that adds a unique splash of colour to planted aquariums. Supplied in an in-vitro cup, this plant is grown in sterile laboratory conditions, ensuring it is free from pests, algae, and snails.

When provided with the right conditions, ‘Flamingo’ develops delicate pink leaves that stand out beautifully against green plants and dark substrates. Its compact growth habit makes it ideal for foreground or midground placement in carefully planned aquascapes.

Care and Growth:

This plant prefers stable aquarium conditions, moderate to high lighting, and benefits greatly from CO₂ injection to maintain its pink coloration. A nutrient-rich substrate and consistent liquid fertilisation are important for healthy growth and colour retention.

As with other Cryptocoryne species, ‘Flamingo’ may experience initial “crypt melt” after planting, but it will typically recover once established. Growth is slow, and propagation occurs through runners that develop gradually from the base of the plant.
