Overview:
Bucephalandra micrantha Needle Leaf is a distinctive Bucephalandra variety characterised by its very narrow, elongated leaves that give the plant a fine, needle-like appearance. Supplied in an in vitro cup, this plant is cultivated in sterile laboratory conditions, ensuring it is free from pests, algae, and snails.
Its compact size and refined form make it an excellent choice for detailed aquascapes, nano aquariums, and intricate hardscape layouts. When attached to rocks or driftwood, Needle Leaf Bucephalandra adds subtle texture and natural elegance without overwhelming the layout.
Care and Growth:
This plant thrives under low to moderate lighting and grows slowly, making it easy to maintain and well suited to low-tech aquariums. While CO₂ injection is not essential, supplementation can improve overall plant health and enhance leaf colouration. Regular liquid fertilisation is recommended for best results.
The rhizome must not be buried in the substrate, as this may cause rot. Instead, attach the plant to hardscape using thread or aquarium-safe glue. Propagation is achieved by dividing the rhizome once multiple healthy shoots have developed.
