This plant thrives in low to medium lighting and does not require CO₂ injection, though supplementation can support healthier growth. Like other rhizome plants, it should be attached to rocks or driftwood, keeping the rhizome exposed to prevent rot.

Growth is slow, and the plant prefers stable water parameters. Minor leaf melt may occur during acclimation, but new growth typically follows once settled into a mature aquarium.
