Aponogeton ulvaceous originates from Madagascar and can grow to a height of 30 cm - 50 cm. It is reasonably tolerant plant especially when CO2 is added and it thrives in both soft and hard water. A single root of A. ulvaceous can produce more than 40 leaves. Leaves are fragile, long, have undulated edges and light green in colour. A. ulvaceous has many varieties. Some varieties need a period of dormancy when leaves are not produced.
