Overview:

Nymphaea lotus, commonly known as the Tiger Lotus, is a striking and decorative aquarium plant prized for its large, vividly patterned leaves that display red, brown, or green tones with distinctive spotting. Supplied in an in-vitro cup, this plant is grown in sterile laboratory conditions and is free from pests, algae, and snails.

Its bold leaf shape and rich colouration make it an eye-catching focal point in planted aquariums. When allowed to grow naturally, it may produce floating leaves, while regular trimming encourages compact, fully submerged growth.

Care and Growth:

This plant thrives under medium to high lighting and benefits from a nutrient-rich substrate, as it is a heavy root feeder. Root tabs are strongly recommended. CO₂ injection can enhance growth speed and colour intensity but is not essential.

Growth is relatively fast once established. Trimming taller leaves helps prevent excessive surface shading and maintains a compact form. Propagation occurs naturally via bulb division or the formation of daughter bulbs over time.
