Overview:
Anubias barteri is a hardy and long-lasting aquarium plant, recognised for its large, thick, dark green leaves and robust growth habit. Its bold foliage makes it an excellent feature plant in freshwater aquariums.
This species is extremely adaptable and thrives in a wide range of water conditions, making it suitable for both beginner and experienced aquarists. It is best attached to rocks or driftwood rather than planted in substrate.
Care and Growth:
Anubias barteri prefers low to medium lighting and does not require CO₂ injection, making it ideal for low-tech aquariums. Strong lighting should be avoided where possible, as it can encourage algae growth on the slow-growing leaves.
Growth is slow but steady. Older leaves can be trimmed as needed, while new leaves emerge gradually from the rhizome, forming a strong, established plant over time.
