Overview:
Vesicularia ferriei, commonly known as Weeping Moss, is a highly decorative aquarium moss valued for its graceful, downward-hanging growth pattern. Its cascading fronds create a soft, natural appearance that adds depth and movement to aquascapes.
When attached to driftwood or rocks, Weeping Moss forms elegant, curtain-like growth that is especially striking in nature-style and bonsai-style layouts. Its deep green colour contrasts beautifully with lighter plants and hardscape materials.
Care and Growth:
This moss thrives under low to moderate lighting and prefers stable water conditions. CO₂ injection can promote faster and denser growth but is not essential. Gentle water flow helps encourage its characteristic weeping form.
Vesicularia ferriei should be tied or glued to hardscape and allowed to attach naturally. Propagation is very easy: simply divide and reattach portions as needed. Occasional trimming helps maintain its shape and prevent overgrowth.
