Overview:
Cryptocoryne parva is the smallest species in the Cryptocoryne genus, making it an excellent choice for foreground planting in aquariums of all sizes. Its narrow, grass-like green leaves create a natural, understated carpet effect over time.
Unlike many other Cryptocoryne species, C. parva remains compact and does not grow tall, making it ideal for detailed aquascapes and nano tanks where scale is important.
Care and Growth:
Cryptocoryne parva prefers low to medium lighting and does not require CO₂ injection, though supplementation and good fertilisation can significantly improve growth speed. A nutrient-rich substrate is strongly recommended due to its extensive root system.
Growth is slow, especially in low-tech setups, but once established it spreads gradually via runners. Like other Cryptocorynes, some leaf melt may occur when first introduced, followed by new growth once settled.

- Smallest Cryptocoryne species
- Ideal for foreground planting
- Compact, grass-like leaves
