Overview:

Echinodorus argentinensis is a large and impressive Amazon Sword species, known for its long, broad green leaves and strong upright growth. Its bold size and classic sword-plant appearance make it an excellent background feature in spacious aquariums.

This species provides excellent cover for fish and helps create a lush, natural environment. It is particularly well suited to community aquariums and South American biotope setups.

Care and Growth:

Echinodorus argentinensis thrives in low to medium lighting and does not require CO₂ injection, making it suitable for low-tech aquariums. As a heavy root feeder, it benefits greatly from a nutrient-rich substrate or regular use of root tabs.

Growth is steady once established. Older outer leaves can be trimmed as needed to maintain shape and encourage healthy new growth from the centre of the plant.

  • Hardy and beginner-friendly
