Red Sea’s Reef Mature Pro Kit is a complete step by step program designed to prepare a new marine aquarium for the long term success of an artificial reef. While traditional “cycling” establishes aerobic nitrifying bacteria to convert toxic waste into nitrate, this program completes the biological maturation process by also establishing thriving colonies of anoxic (de-nitrifying and phosphate harboring (PHB)) bacteria.

The 21 day reef maturation program creates the necessary conditions to promote the growth of coralline algae and beneficial micro fauna found in live rock and sand beds. At the end of the process, the system is biologically matured and ready for stocking all animals, including delicate SPS corals.
