The Gold Nugget Pleco (L-18), scientifically known as Baryancistrus xanthellus, is a popular freshwater fish admired for its striking appearance and unique coloration.

Physical Characteristics:

• Coloration: Features a dark body with large, bright yellow spots, resembling gold nuggets.
• Shape: Has a flattened body with a broad head and prominent whiskers.

Behaviour:

• Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial; best kept in spacious tanks.
• Activity Level: Nocturnal; tends to be more active at night.
• Community Behaviour: Can coexist with other peaceful species but should be monitored to prevent aggression.

Aquarium Care:

• Tank Size: A minimum of 190 litres (50 gallons) is recommended for optimal health.
