Behaviour:

• Temperament: Emperor Snakeheads are known for their aggressive and territorial behaviour, particularly towards other snakeheads and similarly sized fish. They are best kept alone or with larger, non-aggressive species.
• Activity Level: These fish are active hunters, spending most of their time patrolling their territory in search of prey.

Aquarium Care:

• Tank Size: A minimum tank size of 300 litres (79 gallons) is recommended for a single Emperor Snakehead, as they require plenty of space to swim and establish territory.
• Water Parameters:
  • Temperature: They thrive in warm water, with an ideal temperature range of 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F).
  • pH: Slightly acidic to neutral water is preferred, with a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5.
  • Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water, with a general hardness (GH) of 5-15 dGH, is ideal.
• Tank Setup: Provide a well-structured tank with plenty of hiding spots using driftwood, rocks, and aquatic plants. A sandy substrate mimics their natural environment and allows them to burrow and hide.

Diet:

The Emperor Snakehead is a carnivorous predator and requires a protein-rich diet to maintain its health. Their diet should include:

• High-quality pellets designed for carnivorous fish.
