Chalk Goby

The Chalk Goby is a small, peaceful fish known for its pale, almost white body, which is often accented by subtle markings. This species is a favorite in reef aquariums due to its calm demeanor and its unique appearance. The Chalk Goby is often seen sifting through sand and pebbles, using its specialized mouth to scavenge for food. They are an excellent choice for a community tank but do best with other non-aggressive species.

General Size Specifications:

This species typically grows up to 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) in length.

Habitat:

Native to the Indo-Pacific region, the Chalk Goby is commonly found in coral reefs and sandy environments, where it can burrow and hide among the substrate. They thrive in environments with plenty of hiding spots and a stable water flow.

Approx Lifespan:

In captivity, Chalk Gobies can live for 3-5 years with proper care.

Feeding and Diet:

This omnivorous species primarily feeds on small invertebrates, detritus, and zooplankton. In aquariums, they benefit from a varied diet that includes high-quality pellets, frozen foods, and occasionally live foods to support their health and natural behavior.
