Overview:
Leptodictyum riparium, commonly known as Stringy Moss, is a fast-growing aquatic moss characterised by its long, flowing strands and soft, natural appearance. Supplied in an in-vitro cup, this moss is grown in sterile laboratory conditions, ensuring it is free from pests, algae, and snails.
Its loose, trailing growth makes it ideal for creating a wild, natural look in aquascapes. When attached to driftwood or rocks, Leptodictyum riparium forms flowing curtains of greenery that add movement, texture, and shelter for fish and shrimp.
Care and Growth:
This moss thrives under low to moderate lighting and is suitable for low-tech aquariums. While CO₂ injection is not essential, supplementation can encourage faster, denser growth. Regular liquid fertilisation supports healthy development.
Attach the moss to hardscape using thread or aquarium-safe glue. Growth can be controlled with regular trimming, which also helps maintain a tidy appearance. Propagation is simple—cut and reattach trimmed portions to new areas.
