The DD AI Prime 16 HD is a compact yet powerful reef LED light, delivering impressive performance in a small footprint. With a maximum output of 55W, it is ideal for aquariums up to 20 × 20 inches, or for use in multiples over larger reef systems.

Power & Coverage

Offering a light spread of up to 24 × 24 inches, the AI Prime 16 HD delivers a peak PAR of approximately 100 µMol at a depth of 24 inches. This makes it perfectly suited to small and medium reef aquariums, supporting healthy coral growth while maintaining excellent energy efficiency.

Drawing a maximum of just 55 watts from the wall, the Prime 16 HD continues Aqua Illumination’s reputation for high-output, low-energy lighting solutions.

Optics

The AI Prime 16 HD comes fitted with custom-designed TIR lenses that provide an excellent balance of power and spread. These lenses offer over 90% optical efficiency and feature a diffuse exit surface to improve colour blending and reduce harsh shadows.

LED Configuration

The Prime 16 HD utilises a new LED cluster design featuring 16 LEDs plus a dedicated moonlight channel for natural night-time simulation:
