Pogostemon stellatus is a strikingly beautiful plant, recognisable by its pink and reddish leaves. It is important to note that P. stellata is highly demanding, difficult to grow in aquariums and is recommended for experienced hobbyist. For the best results a stable supply of intensive light and CO2 should be provided. Leaves becoming pale may be an indication of a lack of micronutrients and fertilisers may need to be added. Propagation is possible by the removal of side shoots and replanting in suitable substrate.
