Chalk Bass (Serranus tortugarum)
The chalk bass (Serranus tortugarum) is a small, hardy reef fish native to the western Atlantic, from Florida to the Caribbean. It has a slender, elongated body with a beautiful mix of orange, purple, and blue hues. Known for its peaceful nature, this species is often seen hovering near the substrate or darting between rock formations. It reaches a maximum size of 8 cm (3 inches).
