A Simple way to Start a Healthy Aquarium

Setting up a new aquarium can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. With Organic Aqua, you can create a safe, balanced environment for your fish without harsh chemicals or months of waiting.

At Seahorse Aquariums, we trust Organic Aqua as a gentle, effective system that works with nature, not against it. Here’s a step-by-step guide to setting up your aquarium using the Organic Aqua method.

What Is Organic Aqua?

Organic Aqua is a water preparation system that introduces live, beneficial bacteria and enzymes to your tank. It helps your aquarium cycle quickly, keeps water parameters stable, and supports your fish’s immune systems, all without synthetic additives.

It’s ideal for:

  • Cold water and tropical tanks

  • Goldfish, community fish, and planted aquariums

  • Families and first-time fishkeepers

What You’ll Need

Before you begin, gather the following:

  • Air Pump ( Optional but recommended for good aeration)
  • Organic Aqua Aquarium Kit (Start Phase + Maintain Phase)

  • Water test kit (optional but recommended to test KH)

  • Fish (only added after Step-2)

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Prepare Your Tank

  1. Place your tank on a flat, stable surface (Using AquaPad) away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

  2. Add rinsed substrate (gravel or sand) and set up your filter, heater (if needed), and decor.

  3. Fill the tank with tap water untill maximum water level

Step 2: Add Organic Aqua Start Phase

  • Add 1x Sachet of water care into the water, then add the Fish Care sachet and Filter Activator into the filter or directly in the water.

  • Turn on the filter and allow the system to run — this begins establishing your beneficial bacteria right away.

    • Make sure there is good surface movement in the water.

Introduce the fish once the temperature is checked.

    Step 3: Introduce Fish Gradually

    • Add a small number of hardy fish first — start slowly and let your tank adjust.

    • Avoid overfeeding and monitor fish closely for the first few days.

    • Continue Adding a water Care sachet every week for the next 3 weeks before switching to the Organic Aqua Maintenance Kit.

Step 4: Add Organic Aqua Maintain Phase

    • Do a partial water change (about 25–30%) Monthly with room temperature water to remove waste buildup .

    • Add the Fish care, Filter activator and 1x Water care Sachet to the aquarium.

    • It keeps the bacteria population healthy, supports fish immunity, and improves overall water clarity and quality.

Monthly Care Tips with Organic Aqua

    • Add the recommended dose of Maintain Phase.

    • Wash your filter Sponge and media with tap water every month.
    • Give your aquarium a good syphon if need .
    • Test your water to monitor nitrate and KH.
